BIRGIT  BOHM
(AUSTRIA)

Twenty years ago, I had an accident with my motor-cycle (Yamaha XT 500) in Greece. I spent a long time in hospital, where they amputed my right foot, and corrected all my broken bones and all my other injures. Subsequently I was for rehabilitation quite a long time. There I started with sport for disability like swimming, athletics and skiing (nearly all sports). In this time I won a lot of  Para Austrian Championships.

10 Years ago I got my Bergers des Pyrenees Bonnette.

I wanted a good education for her and started to train. 5 years later my eldest son Philipp started agility with her and he was quite successful. Three years ago I got a West-highland terrier and I started agility too.

Last year I got Ornella of Mountain Sterling  a Bordercollie breeded by Dagmar Bauch Rotter and Peter Kurtz. In this time I started training  with Eyk of Mount Sterling leaded by Peter.

In the summer Hannelore and Peter persuaded me to take part at the Para-Agility. I agreed allthough I never wanted to do Para sports any more I enjoined this event very much- also for seeing how people with disabilities and their dogs work and I was fascinated of the attention the dogs bring their baders. In the meantime I developed HGP – This is a part of therapy-dogs.

HGP ( Hund-Gestützte-Pädagogik) = dog supported Pedagogics. Eyk and Ornella do their work very well, and we offer this education to all interested people and their dogs.

Hope and looking forward to take part at Para- Agility at Italy 2005.
