NIK POLAK
(AUSTRIA)

Nik with Xindy

Xindi (Lakeland Terrier) is my first dog. 1995 we visited our local Dogschool . By accident we have been the best in the final whelp test. That made me somehow really happy. So we continued to train obedience. We could reach the highest level in Obedience -- 2001 we reached in Austrian championship the 9th place.

1997 we started with agility. At that time my disability started to become worse, so running became less  possible for me. I stoped agility training , but my dog was running in competitions with other persons--that means my dog has more agility skills then I have.

2003 Calin, who pioneered ParaAgility in Austria, asked me to participate in St.Pölten in a ParaAgility competition. That was the  first Competition in Austria.  Participants from Hungary, Netherlands and Italy enriched this competition. I liked it so much  , that we traveled as far as Spain to participate in the ParaAgility Worldcup. This was such  a great competition, that we started to train para-agility regularly . We also participated in all PAWC's since than.

Since this Year we have a puppy (border terrier) with the name Olivia -- I call her Via. I hope that I succeed to train her close to the skills of Xindi -- Xindi is 11 years old now.

We are eager to participate on  the 5th PAWC 2006  in Holland organized by Susan Rekveld and her team.
