Agility-matches in Belgium and Luxembourg 2004

BELGIUM
14-02-04 Sports Hall in Deinze & 22-02-04 ExpoHal in Gent
It's a little journey, but I
think it's very worth to visit an agility-match in another country...always
rules and obstacles different.
Different rules:
* you can start when the judge give a signal ( flute) and the last competitor
have left the course
* when you leave the course your dog have to be leashed
* when the dog is stand still just before an obstacle , even when he didn't past
by the obstacle,
it's a refusal
* just before the start and after the finish there's a thoroughfare ( passage)
between two poles, here the
time start/ come to a stop
* there are two judges in the course
Different obstacles:

Special
Tyre Jump
with real water and play-ducks ;-)
(of course some dogs drink of the water......disqualification ;-(
For us it's to show the possibility of para-agility and to find more handlers with a disability.
On the match in Deinze I met a handlers with a disability ( he missed one arm and I have told him about the 3e PAWC this year in Austria. I hope he will entry, but I'm not sure because he haven't any transport.
I have contact with another
handler with a disability, from belgium ( he have one leg-prosthesis) but
his wife is running with the same dog into the FCI-competiton of Belgium, that
can give problems.
For the handlers in Belgium it isn't allowed to take part into agility-matches
not organised by FCI-organisations, matches like IMCA & PAWC.
We have asked for dispensation for him and we have recieved!
LUXEMBOURG

29-02-04 Victor Hugo Hall in Luxembourg
This visit was succesfull.......a
reporting of para-agility on the Sports Journal of a Television Station in
Luxembourg.
In Luxembourg there are just a few judges, so it can happen the judge who's
judging the matchb also runs his own dog!
Again I have met new agility-friends......courses in another formation ...so I have learned a lot ;-))
